FX2 F150, no jolt of Lightning

This is the new F150 FX2, their latest "sporty" truck offering. And don't get me wrong, it's nice with the body color trim, black billet grill and 18" rims. But "Where's the Beef?" I mean why don't we have a new Lightning? This is obviously an attempt to have a Lightning Lite.

I know SVT is in transition (dead) but how can Ford leave this slot empty? Chevy has the SS and Dodge has the SRT10, and this is the best Ford will do? It's supposed to be at the NY Auto Show, so I'll look, but unless it's going to have some major power, I'm not excited.

Joe, hold on to your pants...read Mark Fields' speech in Blueovalnews.com. While SVT may not do a Fusion...he mentioned an SVT Mustang (Shelby) and a high performance TRUCK!!!!!!

In another point of the Filds talk you mention in the post above this one, Fieelds refers to SVT (by name) and claims thye will maintain at least one truck and one mustang nuder SVT development..

Me and my buccies agree that SVT is likely to be radicalized to bruto power comparable to Focus RS, while ST wil be the more mild designation or performace models for everyday driving ... something closer to old world SVT models...

it seems SVT is not dead after all.. whic is of course surprising...

but it seems right now nothing is fixed at Ford.. and anythign that was true yesterday might not be so anymore tomorrow.

In Mark Field's recent web chat, he said that Ford was staying with SVT, and the plan was to have a modified Mustang and a "sport truck" on the market.
